Architect Joel Kateregga, a board member of Buganda Land Board and Namulondo Investments has died today. Kateregga was battling aplastic anaemia. He was a member of the royal family.
Kateregga was director of Echo Shelter and Environmental Consults. A former board chair of the NSSF, Kateregga had just been given the life time achievement award by the Uganda Society of Architects.
He previously served as President of the Architects Registration Board. Sometime back, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga paid him a visit.
Kateregga was born May 14, 1944 to Zephania Kayondo and Alice Mary Nantaba.
He is the architect behind Postel Building (Office of the Prime Minister), Post Office, Telephone exchange houses in Mbuya and Mengo as well as Buganda Kingdom’s Muganzirwazza Complex in Katwe among others.
