Celebrations to mark the Silver Jubilee of Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II as Kabaka of Buganda kick off next month, organisers say. This revelation was made by Owek Twaha Kawaase, the Second Deputy Katikkiro and Chairman of the Organising Committee. Owek Robert Waggwa Ns

This year on July 31, it will be 25 years since Kabaka Mutebi was crowned King of Buganda.
The celebrations will kick off with the Buganda Health Day in March with the Kabaka launching the Mobile Clinic.
The clinic is expected to improve the health conditions of Kabaka’s people across Buganda. It is a modern clinic with a modern lab, theatre, and consultation rooms.
The counties of Ssese and Buvuma, which are islands are also expected to receive modern water ambulances to ease the movement of sick people on Lake Victoria.
Many activities are expected to be carried out throughout the year including new businesses to be launched, Owek Kawaase has revealed. “There are many things we expect to do this silver jubilee year,” he said.
The Kabaka is expected to be joined by many dignitaries from many Kingdoms across the world. Businessman Emmanuel Katongole has been appointed to be in charge of such guests, which means these are very high ranking officials given the status of Katongole. Prince Jjunju Kiweewa is also on the committee.
There are many other committees which are working over time to ensure seamless celebrations. The main celebration event is expected on July 31, 2018 at the Mengo Palace commonly known as Lubiri.
