Government pledges to implement Buganda Agreement

The Prime Minister of Uganda, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has pledged to ensure that the government fully implements the 2013 agreement between the Kabaka and President Yoweri Museveni. Rugunda made the remarks while meeting Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga, his third deputy Apolo Makubuya and Attorney General Daudi Mpanga. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s office in Kampala.

In the agreement, the government pledged to return all Buganda properties and several land titles were returned and also promised to compensate Muteesa House in London the government sold as well the land where King Fahd Plaza stands today on Kampala Road among others. However, the government hasn’t paid the money yet.

with this pledge, Buganda is hopeful that money will be paid soon to enable the Kabaka deliver services to his people.
