There has been a malicious rumour being propagated by some former BBS Terefayina staff that the company Chief Executive Omukungu Joe Kigozi was suspended for missing funds.
Joe Kigozi was never suspended or fired. He requested for annual leave which he hadn’t taken since the company was launched by the Kabaka on his 61st birthday.
We have since seen a copy of the letter Joe Kigozi wrote to the station’s Board Chair Fabian Kasi which was also copied to Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga and the line ministers (Owek Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, finance and investment and Owek Noah Kiyimba of information) responsible for the TV station.
In his absence, the station is entrusted with Jonathan Muyingo who is the Chief Finance Officer and next in command at the popular Masengere based TV station.
It is normal procedure for anybody going on leave to submit a handover report to their supervisor which Kigozi did.
“His absence on annual leave has not weakened the station in any way because it is in able hands and everything is going on well. Once he returns to office, he will continue to perform his duties as CEO,” our source, a BBS senior manager told us.
We have established that Kigozi traveled to Canada where his young family lives. His children hadn’t seen their father for a long time and therefore there was need for him to spend some time with them like any other caring parent.
