Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has urged the youth to emulate Owek Gaster Lule Ntake by avoiding splashing money on unnecessary items and activities. The Katikkiro made the remarks while opening the Kaswa Wheat Milling Plant at Nalukolongo.
“If you start splashing money or buying luxurious products, your business may not be able to grow. It is also very hard that after a few years of working, you build a house as expensive as that of Owek Ntake or drive a very expensive car,” Mayiga advised. “If you do, you may end up affecting your business,” he added.
He thanked Owek Ntake, who is a member of the Buganda Lukiiko and Treasurer of Buganda Twezimbe (Ettoffaali), for creating employment. “We thank you for being steadfast in creating jobs,” Mayiga said and advised other businessmen to emulate Ntake.
Ntake thanked the Katikkiro for the honor to open his factory and promised to work hard to ensure the business becomes more successful and expands more.
Ntake also decried the high interest rates that are hampering business growth.
The function started with service led by Bishop Kityo Luwalira. Several dignitaries graced the occasion. Buganda Twezimbe members graced the occasion.
Some newspapers had previously reported that Mayiga and Ntake were at loggerheads over the Kingdom’s BBS Terefayina. Ntake owns Delta TV. This vindicates Mayiga who had always shared there were no issues between them.
